Whether standing in the pulpit preaching the Word or serving food on the streets, Pastor Quentin Q. Byrd’s assignment is clear, to love, lead, and serve God’s people. He accepted his call to ministry at age 15, and his empowering, practical teaching style draws people of all ages into deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Raised in Atlanta, GA, by a devoted single mother, Pastor Byrd is a proud graduate of Atlanta Public Schools and earned a B.S. in Business Management from Huntingdon College in Montgomery. He later obtained his Master of Divinity with honors from the Interdenominational Theological Center – Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta. His life reflects 1 Timothy 1:12 – “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me the strength to do His work…”
With a passion for Kingdom ministry and leadership development, Pastor Byrd has served in several impactful roles, including at Lindsay Street Baptist Church (Atlanta) and as Chief Ministry Officer at The Worship Center Christian Church (Birmingham, AL), where he trained and equipped pastors, ministers, and deacons.
Pastor Byrd is no stranger to Freewill. From 2003–2013, he faithfully served as Youth Pastor. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, and at the congregation’s request, he returned on July 5, 2020, to become the 4th Senior Pastor of Freewill Missionary Baptist Church.
With a heart to Engage, Equip, and Empower, Pastor Byrd leads Freewill with passion and purpose.
Today, he and his wife, Dr. Consuela Byrd, along with their children Gabrielle (Gabby), Jeremy, and Bryson, are honored to serve as the First Family of Freewill, where love and transformation meet.
