Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a growing public health concern that affects millions of people, often without obvious symptoms in its early stages. Left undetected, CKD can lead to serious health complications, including kidney failure, heart disease, and other life-threatening conditions. Because early detection and education can make a significant difference, increasing awareness is one of the most effective ways to improve health outcomes and empower individuals to take charge of their well-being.

The Freewill Community Development Corporation, in partnership with Freewill Missionary Baptist Church, the American Diabetes Association, and ConnectionHealth, is proud to work together to expand access to kidney health education, risk assessments, and screening opportunities. Through this partnership, we are committed to reaching communities that are disproportionately impacted by chronic kidney disease and have historically experienced barriers to quality healthcare. By providing trusted information, preventive screenings, and connections to valuable resources, we hope to promote healthier lives and strengthen the overall well-being of our community.

Whether you are living with diabetes or high blood pressure, have a family history of kidney disease, or simply want to learn more about protecting your health, we invite you to explore the resources available on this page. Together, we can increase awareness, encourage early detection, and help build healthier communities—one person, one family, and one neighborhood at a time.
